Progressing clients

How do you initiate the first session? How do you progress your clients through each level of the Fletcher Pilates® syllabus? Ask your questions here.

  1. Before you even get to the first session...

*How do you describe and convince someone to try Fletcher Pilates when they only know it as a "form of exercise, kinda like yoga"...
    1) You have maximum 10 minutes to answer!
    2) How does your response change in different situations? ie cocktail party/studio setting/phone call.

*How do you respond to the objection "I want to try Pilates, but I don't think my core is strong enough!"

  2. I realized many people are not aware that we do a lot of work on apparatus, so I make sure I say that, as well as that Pilates emphasizes core strengthening.

When someone calls you, it’s safe to assume they are already interested. They probably heard of you from someone who’s already your client, or had visited your website. In this case, it’s about fixing an appointment for a trial class (“you have to experience it to know the difference … only pay for one class, no commitment”). If not, at least fix a time for them to visit your studio.

When they step into your studio, they get a chance to see the difference for themselves. You may want to consider demonstrating some pieces to get them excited!

Cocktail party … this is a tough one. I haven’t any success rate for this one. Anybody else has some good suggestions?

Core not strong enough to do Pilates? Well, that’s precisely why you want to practice Pilates!!! Instead of getting a strong core to do Pilates, IT’S PRACTICING PILATES TO GET A STRONG CORE! People usually respond in agreement ; )
